I love Glastonbury – The Tor, The Chalice Well Gardens , the history, the spiritual content. Yesterday I made another journey there with my daughter to have a “goddess” kind of day together.
We were blessed with glorious sunshine, albeit cold ( 3 degrees C) so the views from the Tor were magnificent. We did have to cling to one another though as the winds were so strong – but it didn’t diminish our enjoyment of the energy and the expansiveness of the views.
Our next stop was the beautiful (and to me Sacred) Chalice Well Gardens.
The Chalice Well Gardens were serene and tranquil in the bright winter sunshine and we had the space almost entirely to ourselves – what joy! We sat in contemplation by the Vesica Pool, filled bottles with Chalice Well water, drank from the Lions Head fountain and lit a candle at the Well Head itself and St Brigits shrine
We spent some quiet time at the Well Head itself before wandering back through the gardens admiring the snow drops and crocuses.
This was a gift of a visit in perfect weather with so few fellow pilgrims.
